1998 Announcement of Plan - endorsement by Governor Whitman
1998-99 Over 2,000 endorsements gathered
2000 Whitman signs into law the New Jersey Cultural Trust
2000 NJSCA supports Southern NJ initiatives in a cultural tourism program and support services for artists, creation of regional folk arts centers, and projects in community cultural planning
2000 Discover Jersey Arts statewide marketing program launched
2001 Setting the stage for the future Governor's Conference
2002 Endorsement campaign continued
2003 Arts Plan NJ endorsers educated on funding crisis
2004 Promoted the arts to local officials through partnerships with NJ Planning Officials, NJ League of Municipalities, NJ Chapter of American Planning Association and the NJ Conference of Mayors.
Began planning for statewide conference to refresh Arts Plan NJ
2005 The Governor's Conference on the Arts: Great Things Begin with Vision
The first Draft will be available to the public at the NJ Theatre Alliance Conference and online late September 2005
Arts Plan NJ will be publically vetted in the fall
2006 The new reshaped Arts Plan NJ will be submitted to the Governor for adoption in January 2006.
